Research:
I am studying syn-orogenic alkaline magmatism in southern Victoria Land, Antarctica. I combine field- and lab-work to learn about how this compositionally unusual magmatism fits into the larger-scale tectonic story of the Gondwana margin in the early Paleozoic. The techniques that I employ include U-Pb geochronology, Lu-Hf isotope geochemistry, and whole-rock major- and trace-element geochemistry.
