Tenured Professor and Director of the Earth Research Institute ORU

The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) invites applications for a tenured faculty position in volcanology or petrology (broadly defined) at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, who would also serve as the Director of the Earth Research Institute (ERI; eri.ucsb.edu). We seek applicants whose records are commensurate with that of an associate or full professor with tenure, who are passionate about teaching and mentorship of diverse undergraduate and graduate students, and whose research interests complement existing strengths in the Department of Earth Science and across campus. SRA 2 Position in the Kennett Lab

This SRA 2 position manages a sediment and paleoclimate laboratory, overseeing the processing of sediment samples for cosmic impact indicators and other materials related to climate and environmental change research. Responsibilities include applying analytical procedures, developing technical protocols, conducting experiments, and data organization. The role also includes supply management, office organization, and communication, such as purchasing and maintaining supplies and equipment, as well as lab maintenance and management. Additionally, this position supports research through literature reviews, correspondence, collaboration with investigators, and manuscript preparation. You are also expected to hire, train, and supervise undergraduate students to support these tasks.
