Poster Printing

As some of you may or may not be aware, the department has a poster printer and will print posters for conferences or classes at no cost to members of the Earth Science department. At this time we do not print for anyone outside of the department. There are some limitations and guidelines, which I have included below.

The first and most important guideline is that all people wishing to print must sign up for a timeslot, this applies to everyone; all students, faculty, staff and lecturers. You can sign up for the timeslot here, if you have a large class job, take two slots ES Poster Printing (google.com)

  • Printing Hours: M-TH 9:30-4:00. Friday printing is by exception only and can be arranged by emailing es-help@geol.ucsb.edu directly.
  • Appointments: Must be made 48 hours in advance when possible, last minute appts are permitted but not guaranteed to have an available time slot. Please plan ahead!
  • Job Uploading: Your print job will need to be uploaded the night before your printing appt, this can be 8pm or midnight, as long as it is there first thing in the morning. It must also be saved as a PDF only, please do not use any other format. You will send your PDF to es-help@geol.ucsb.edu with the subject: Last Name: Poster (appt date). In the subject please also give the same information including the time of your appt.
  • Paper: The only material we have is matte paper. We have moved away from glossy paper, matte is better in the daylight and can be written on for class maps if needed. If you would like to print on something other than matte paper, you must pay for the material yourself and discuss with LSCG ahead of time to make sure it is possible.
  • Dimensions: There is a max width of 42 in wide for any posters. If your PDF is outside this dimension it will be cut off.
