Graduate students Ryan Stoner and Alec Vallota-Eastman Awarded Prestigious NSF Fellowships

April 4, 2018

Since 1952, over half a million hopefuls have applied to the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program—a prestigious program designed to recognize and support outstanding graduate students.

Of the 12,000 students who applied this year, only 2,000 received this coveted award. Among them, were our own Ryan Stoner inTectonics and Alec Vallota Eastman in Biological Oceanography. These fellowships will empower Ryan and Alec to focus on their research, with monthly stipends and and fee payments for the next three years. Congratulations!
